Apple Juice

This simple technique delivers maximum nutrition with very little effort. For the best flavor, combine two or more apple varieties.

Apple juice in a pitcher on a wooden platter with a glass

Ingredients

  • 4 (600 g) apples, cored, halved
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) water, cool

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
  2. Run the Smoothie Program or start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 40-50 seconds, using the tamper to push ingredients toward the blades.
  3. Transfer purée to a bowl lined with cheesecloth or a filtration bag and twist until juice is extracted.

Chef's Notes

  • Fiber is removed when filtering through cheesecloth. To create a thinner juice with the fiber intact, blend with 3 cups of water. This will lessen the intensity of the apple flavor but increase the fiber intake.
