Banana Freeze

With just bananas, milk, sweetener and ice, this sweet indulgence is quick, easy and guilt-free. Top with slivered almonds for added texture, or serve with peanut butter pie for an irresistible combination.

Banana Freeze

Ingredients

  • 1½ cup (360 ml) almond milk , or alternative milk
  • 6 (680 g) frozen bananas, halved
  • 3 Tablespoons (45 ml) date syrup

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
  2. Start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed, using the tamper to press ingredients toward the blades.
  3. In about 30-60 seconds, the sound of the motor will change and four mounds should form. Stop the machine. Do not over mix or melting will occur. Serve immediately.

Chef's Notes

  • When the frozen dessert is finished processing, you will see 4 distinct mounds at the top of the blend. Optimal temperature for frozen ingredients is 20 to 25 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • If mixture has the consistency of a milkshake, firm it up by slowly adding a cup of ice cubes. Process until smooth.
