Chopped Onion
Easily use your Vitamix container to chop any ingredient.
Ingredients
- 1 Tablespoon (250 g) medium yellow onion, peeled, quartered
Directions
- Place 1/4 of the onion at a time into the Vitamix container and secure the lid.
- Pulse the blender by rapidly turning the dial to its lowest speed setting, then off again. Repeat until desired texture is reached, using the tamper to press ingredients toward the blades and scraping down the sides of the container as needed.

- ½ small (90 g) onion, peeled, halved
Directions
- Wet Chop:
- Place onion into the Vitamix container and add enough water for the onion to float.
- Select Variable 6. Pulse the onion 4 to 6 times or until chopped to desired consistency.
- Dry Chop:
- Place onion into the Vitamix container and secure the lid.
- Select Variable 6. Pulse the onion 4 to 6 times or until chopped to desired consistency. Remove the lid and scrape down the sides of the container as needed between pulses.
- Drop Chop:
- Secure the lid of the Vitamix container and remove the lid plug.
- Select Variable 6. Turn the machine on and drop the onion through the lid plug opening. Blend for 3 seconds or until onion is chopped to desired consistency.

Directions
- Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
- Select Variable 4. Pulse 5 to 10 times using the tamper to press ingredient towards the blade.
Chef's Notes
- Low speed will allow for a larger rough cut, while higher speeds will puree more.
