No-Nut Butter

An ideal alternative for those with nut allergies, this recipe combines seeds, sunflower oil, and a touch of honey to create a spreadable butter.

No-Nut Butter

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups (320 g) sunflower seeds, roasted, unsalted
  • ½ cup (72 g) flaxseed
  • ¼ cup (18 g) sesame seeds
  • ½ cup (120 ml) sunflower oil
  • 2 Tablespoons honey, optional
  • ¼ teaspoon salt, optional

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
  2. Start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 1 minute 15 seconds, using the tamper to press ingredients toward the blades. Stop machine and scrape down sides of container halfway through blending if necessary.
