Roasted Cauliflower Slider With Buffalo Hot Sauce

A vegetarian slider with homemade hot sauce that can be adjusted to your liking.


  • sauce:
  • 1 cup (240 ml) hot sauce
  • ½ pound (225 g) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup (240 ml) water
  • Slider:
  • ½ head cauliflower
  • 2 Tablespoons (30 ml) extra virgin olive oil
  • 6 whole whole wheat slider buns
  • ½ cup (8 g) fresh cilantro leaves, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt, optional
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper


  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. Place Sauce ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure lid.
  3. Run the Hot Soup Program or start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed.  Blend for 5 minutes 45 seconds.
  4. Slice cauliflower into 1-inch (2.5-cm) thick florets.
  5. Place cauliflower onto baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt, optional and pepper. Roast in the oven for 20 minutes, or until tender.
  6. To assemble, place cauliflower on a toasted bun and pour 1 Tablespoon of sauce over cauliflower, garnish with cilantro. Serve immediately.

Chef's Notes

  • Reserve the extra hot sauce in the refrigerator for later use
