Stress Free Vegan Gravy

This tasty gravy comes together in just a few minutes with the help of your Vitamix.

Ingredients

  • ¾ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon dried thyme
  • 3 Tablespoons (15 g) nutritional yeast
  • ⅓ cup (63 g) toasted brown rice
  • ½ teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt, optional
  • 2 cups (480 ml) vegetable stock

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
  2. Start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 7 minutes 30 seconds or until thickened and hot.

Chef's Notes

  • To toast the rice, simply place into a dry skillet and cook over medium heat until lightly golden brown and aromatic. This is an optional step, but adds flavor to the finished gravy.
