Sunshine Smoothie

Carrots and lemon are complimented by sweet oranges to make a healthy juice-style smoothie.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups (720 ml) water
  • 4 medium (500 g) oranges, peeled, halved
  • 6 medium (400 g) carrots
  • 2 slices (20 g) lemon, 1/4"
  • 2 cups (260 g) ice cubes

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
  2. Run the Smoothie Program or start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 40-50 seconds, using the tamper to push ingredients toward the blades.

Chef's Notes

  • Instead of ice cubes try frozen mango or pineapple to boost the nutrition and flavor.   Maybe try a little fresh ginger or turmeric to give this smoothie a refreshing spice.
